Fabric: Skirt is made of beautiful Irish Linen and the piping, facing and pocket is made out of vintage inspired floral cotton.
Pattern: Simplicity 2451. Best pattern of 2010 by PR.
Pattern Description: Misses' skirt sewing patterns, each in two lengths. Easy to Sew Collection. I made View D, the pleated front mini-skirt version.

Time to complete: 4 hours
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes and better.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Very easy.
What's skills: Invisible zipper technique, piping and slash pocket. I found Sewaholic slash pocket tutorial very useful and used her tips.
Did you make any alterations or modifications? No, this is surely going to be a TNT pattern.
First worn: Jun 2012
Wear again? ( jumping of happiness )Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The front pleas, the pockets, everything. It's very shape flattening and comfortable.
Will you make it again? Yes, for shape D. Not sure I like A or B.
Conclusion: Perfect pattern. It's comfortable to wear and looks very chic in linen.

DeleteI made this skirt a couple of weeks ago. I had read about the pattern and thought 'eh can't be THAT good'. Picked up a skirt for $1, chopped it up and made it into a new skirt with this pattern. Awesome pattern and I love what you have created - the piping is delightful! Greathair too!

DeleteIt's stunning! I love everything about it and am now tempted to make one myself. I know you said you didn't make any changes, but what was the sizing like - did you follow the sizing chart on the back or did you know in advance to make a smaller/bigger size than the measurements indicated?

I normally cut a size UK 12(US 10) and add 1 cm on side seam and 3 cm on zipper seams as fitting insurance, so I can tweak later .I still mark the original size 12 with chalk. If I am in doubt I cut one size larger and pin fit, if too big, I re cut it. Im tall too and that make my hemlines higher then on most people.
