★Colour block Skirt.★ Simplicity 2451


Fabric: Skirt is made of upholstery fabric from IKEA, the yoke and pockets are poly cotton. The IKEA fabric worked perfectly as a lightweight denim. I didn't like the poly cotton as I didn't pre wash and it shrank during pressing. Fixable but very annoying.

Pattern: Simplicity 2451.Such a great little pattern.

Notions:Lots of buttons.Yes you heard right, I added buttons as closure.

Time to complete: 4 hours

What’s skills:Buttons, piping and slash pocket. 

Did you make any alterations or modifications? yes, added a placket for my buttons instead of zipper. For the rest, same review as last time!

  2. Nice skirt! I saw it at sewweekly and like pretty much the pattern and these orange details. IKEA has nice prints, I made the bag from it's fabric, looks very positive!%))

  4. I love this combo. Funnily enough I have an orange fabric I was thinking of making into this skirt but with blue as the contrast! Waiting for summer...
