Cris & Floral V8560

It's been ages since Cris last shared her latest make. For those who don't know, Cris and I started sewing at the same time. We met at a local sewing class back in 2009, have a share ownership of our overlocker and spend loads of time together. Cris is a fellow Brazilian. Now over to her...

Pattern: Vogue V8560

Fabric: 100%  Cotton from Ikea, originally was going to use the fabric for a pair of curtains.

Size and alterations: 8 no alterations

Level: Beginner.

Pattern skill: Easy

Year: Modern

Time to complete: 1 hour

Will you make it again? yes, definitely maybe in a smaller size, child age 6, for my niece!

What did you particularly like or dislike about this pattern:  I like it because it is so easy to make and I had done before the same pattern and at the time, I changed the waistband for an elastic band. This is the 3rd time I sew this pattern.

Cost : around £ 5.00 not sure

Tips? Used Sew it Up by Ruth Singer instructions for the zipper.

Conclusion:  I can't think of anything I would change it. I love this skirt. So easy and quick to make. I don't have so much time to sew so I appreciate projects I could do quickly. I hemmed by machine.

  1. How sweet! A skirt made of material destined to be a curtain. How very Maria Von Trapp of you! :)

  2. I love that you have each other as sewing soul mates. I want to share an overlocker with someone. I should have written that into my wedding vows. :-D HA!

Gorgeous makes, Cris! The skirt suits you nicely, and I love it with the jacket.

    1. Thanks Michelle! And yes you should try to share an overlocker, it is much easier when you are in trouble with the machine and you have your partner to help you! ; )

  3. I had been eyeing that exact same fabric but I couldn't imagine how it would look as a garment, but I like it so I might pick up some on my next trip to Ikea :)

  4. I love the skirt too! It's a great basic that has a little flair to it with the pattern.

  9. What a lovely print, and it suits Cristiane so well. I tend to make fairly simple garments as well as a rule, mostly because I want a result like yesterday! It is such a good idea to share an expensive piece of kit like an overlocker, and any problems or ideas can be shared.

Hello there! Don't worry if you cannot see your comment straight away.
I need to approve them. When they show it means I read, appreciated it, even made a happy dance. Sometimes is hard to answer individual comments but I will always answer a question.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me!
